Securing the academic futures of South Africa’s future lawyers

Strauss Daly has awarded R2 million in bursaries to LLB scholars from across the country for the 2020 academic year.

Since our inception, Strauss Daly has accepted its social responsibility to help support and develop the communities we serve by offering a helping hand when either the past or the present stands in the way of the future. This responsibility is nowhere more important than in the assistance we give to students who are diligently working towards a better future.

With the assistance of Career Wise, we have awarded students from Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Western Cape the financial assistance they needed to step out of their circumstances into the endless possibilities that now lie before them.

“At Strauss Daly, we have always believed that the economic upliftment of our people and our country is heavily linked to upskilling our historically disadvantaged youth through further academic studies. We have always invested our time and resources in this area of our corporate social responsibility, and it is something that is very important to our vision. Our profession has always been steeped in academic excellence and the Strauss Daly Bursary Fund is a natural progression of our vision for our company, the profession and our wonderful country.” Hennie Barnard, Strauss Daly Chairman/CEO

In these uncertain economic times, it is more important than ever to ensure the certainty of the future through education. We see it as our duty to help bring about the best future possible for those who work hard every day to obtain it and to offer all the assistance we can towards the improvement of the next generation of South African lawyers.

“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.” – Nelson Mandela
