Our team of experts has extensive knowledge and experience of the property market in South Africa, and we pride ourselves on our efficient, cost-effective handling of property-related transactions. We are on the panels of all major financial institutions.

In addition to its conventional property practice, Strauss Daly was the first in the industry to form a specialised multi-disciplinary team of conveyancing and engineering professionals, adding value to clients on the legal-, town planning- and engineering aspects of property development and construction.

    Steyn Botha is an admitted attorney, conveyancer and notary public of the High Court of South Africa and is a non-practicing enrolled solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Steyn holds the academic qualifications of BLC LLB from the University of Pretoria, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law and a Masters Degree in Shipping Law from the University of Cape Town. He specialises in property law & conveyancing, land use planning- & environmental law, commercial law, shipping law and maritime credit security. Steyn completed his Masters degree dissertation in international commercial shipping transactions, focusing on shipping finance- and mortgages. His postgraduate studies in environmental law included research on Spatial Justice and its role in modern town planning law in South Africa. He is the director and the head of the Property Law and Conveyancing department at the Tyger Waterfront branch of Strauss Daly. He has more than 35 years’ experience in legal practice.

    Mark Poole holds a B. Comm degree with majors in Business Administration and Economics, an LLB degree together with Post Graduate Diploma in Tax. Mark is also an admitted conveyancer and a solicitor in England and Wales (Non-Practising). Mark’s flair is for the commercial and business aspects of law focusing on contract drafting. In turn, Mark has vast experience and knowledge in the fields of insolvency/liquidations, business rescues, turnarounds and compromises with creditors. He has worked extensively in the fields of affordable housing, both in KwaZulu Natal and other parts of South Africa. Eric is responsible for establishing the estates and matrimonial practise in the firm.
